Made with Palmyra Blossom Nectar, it offers a deliciously sweet and natural alternative to traditional mince pies. It’s packed with fruits, spices, and a hint of brandy (optional) for the ultimate holiday flavor.


Mince Pie Filling

Makes 4 jars


Ingredients:

  • 500g apples, finely diced (with skin on; Golden Delicious and Pink Lady are naturally sweet)
  • 250g mixture of raisins and sultanas
  • 100g cranberries or sun-dried cherries
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • Zest and juice of 1 medium orange
  • 100ml fresh apple juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 50g SugaVida Palmyra Blossom Nectar
  • 50g butter
  • 1 tbsp brandy (optional)

Method:

  1. Combine Ingredients:
    In a heavy pan, add all the ingredients except the brandy. Cover and simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Simmer and Adjust:
    After 30 minutes, check the mixture. If it’s getting too thick or dry, add more apple juice to keep it plump and moist. Continue simmering for another 30 minutes.

  3. Cool and Store:
    Once the mixture has thickened and the flavors have melded, take it off the heat and let it cool. Add the brandy (if using), then decant into sterilized jars.
